There is No Light...

a poem by, Carl Robbins.

There is no light but the moon and the stars,

Alone in the circle I dance, I dance.

Deep in the night I can hear with my heart

All of the greenwood's chants.

Turn with the year, live without fear,

Keep the old songs in your heart.

Hear the stars chime, hear the world rhyme,

Me and my Lady are never apart.

The trees tell their stories to those who will hear,

Stories of Gods in the hills, the hills.

Sometimes the plowhorses know in their hearts

The depths of the dark soil they till.

I follow the Lady while stars run down,

Until the sun shows me his golden eye.

Alone in the circle I dance ever 'round;

The wise have no need to ask why.
